This Friday I had an hour to kill before going to dinner and since I was around an AllSaints store, what a better way to spend it than pupping into the store, right? I love their current collection! I restrained myself from buying anything, but there are quite a few items on my list now...

Oh my oh my... somehow I am becoming quite obsessed with these slit hem jeans.. especially after seeing them at the "Weworewhat" blog (my new blogger discovery as well). But I don't know! I am 5'5' at my best days and not sure how this would look at a shorter person. But then I am not afraid of heels! Are not they just super cool? Plus they are on major share at Shopbop...

Massimo Dutti is such a ubiquitous Spanish clothing retailer. Before going to Barcelona, I swore to myself to avoid the store and as to try to save my energy and euros for designer boutique stores. Well, my strategy did not work. As my money were running out and MD stores being everywhere (it’s almost like Starbucks in the US – you know if you walk around for 5 minutes you will find your way into the store), I, of course, ended up shopping there...(plus saving $$, as MD clothes are cheaper in Spain..)

And all the pieces are so wearable and office friendly. I ended up with cute yellow flats and the below blue silk blouse.

I have came to terms with my 'safe' fashion choices. I know I am not the person that is not afraid of bold statement clothes or is crazy about brave fashion trends. Yep, I tend to keep it simple and am always gravitating to simplistic and somewhat understated silhouettes And that's why I search for items that are different in small details or provide a certain twist on the 'usual'.. For my personal taste that's where the fashion comes into my personal clothet.. Like these Vince pants! A perfect example... I just love love everything about them. What do you think?

Hi there my dear readers & friends!

I am back: back in the US life and the reality of work and responsibilities… and blogging! I had a blast spending time with my family in Slovakia and sightseeing with my boyfriend in Vienna.

And it was so much fun to be exploring Barcelona again. This time I went solo, as my boyfriend had to fly back for work and I don’t know anyone in the city. But I had an amazing time with only myself as the companion. What do you think about solo vacations? I feel quite refreshed after not having to answer to anyone for full four days.

Also I feel like revising a place as a tourist for the second time has major advantages. As I did not feel the pressure to run around trying to see all the main touristic attractions (I’ve done that before), I had more time to wander the streets and let the time flow. I also revisited my favorite spots and reminisced on the past. And let me tell you, if I could I would move to this city. It’s just breathtakingly beautiful – full of charm and oriental mysticism. Not to say with what looks like a vibrant art and social scene… It’s time to start taking Spanish lessons and make some Barcelona friends. I am quite sure I will be back…

vii. One of my favorite structures in Barcelona. I love that this city seems to so readily and easily embrace all forms of experimental arts... I just love love the Antoni Tapais installation on top of this building.

viii. Joan Miro Art museum: J. Miro is another great artist that came out of this city...

So if you live in Barcelona and want a new friend, get in touch :-) I'd love to treat you to a lunch or dinner or what it might be in your city :-) I know Spain is having some tough times right now, but I am quite jealous of you for living in such a great beautiful city!

I am beyond excited about my upcoming Europe trip. I get to see my family in Slovakia (after more then a year!). I will do some sightseeing in Vienna with my boyfriend and then solo four day trip in Barcelona..... Since I am going through quite a few airports, I decided I had to pack everything into one little carry-on.. Keep it simple... I can count on my two hands the number of clothing items I am taking..

1. I suspect this outfit is going to be on a 2 week heavy rotation. Luckily I can wash my laundry at my family house or at hotels. I feel like a white blouse is an easy way to create a clean simple stylish outfit..

It's almost such a cliche that one got to have a striped top. But you know what, I just found the perfect one at BR and can't get out of it. It's been gloomy weather in SF and I have been working nonstop. Wearing a striped a blue shirt makes me think of ocean and sun. I love it... and it's perfect under a blazer for office or for weekend daily outings... I guarantee you, if you pull out your striped shirt in 10 years, it's still going to be a just as in. Somewhat of a fashion miracle, right?

I try not to shop much (or close to not at all) at Banana Republic. I simply think most of the clothes are too generic...
But they had a big promotion going on 50% of 5 full prized items. I ended up with a yellow blouse. Imagine! A yellow (!) blouse... It's time to venture out of my comfort zone of grey, black & dark blue shades, I guess. Yellow, after all, goes with so many colors: white, blue, black, brown...

I must confess: I must be utterly clueless, as I just found out who Emmanuelle Alt is. I have drooled over her images before (even used some of them on my blog for inspiration), but I had no idea who she truly was.

I personally relate to her style in every possible aspect. If I got a chance of a dream-wardrobe, hers would be my first pick.

She is the perfect exemple of simple & functional style that any urban woman can get inspired from.
I can now spend countless hours in contemplation how skinny black pants and a white simple shirt can look so incredibly chick. This should not be so hard to attain, right? If I break it down, I practically own most of her signature items..
